Press in Britain — Пресса в Британии 2
There are the main British national newspapers. The British national newspapers are ones sold over the country giving general news: they are produced in the capital city, London. There are two main types of national papers – the “popular” papers and the “quality” papers. The popular papers are smaller in size with lots of pictures, big headlines and short articles. They are easy to read and often have little real information. Example of this type of newspapers are the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. “ Quality” papers are for a more serious reader, who wants to read about business, politics and foreign affairs. There newspapers, such as Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, are bigger in size, with longer articles. They have different pages for home news, foreign affairs, business, fashion, sport and so on. In addiction to these there are evening papers such as London’s Evening Standard.
